Students would often associate her with a specific scent of foreign cigarettes, more specifically, Pianissimo. Her scent was specific, to the point that her former classmates knew she was already first in the room once the smell of cigarettes and YSL's Libre Eau de Parfum enters their line of scent. It was the routine that even professors noticed.❝I'm not yet done, ate.❞ Rin said with a smile, lighting another cigarette with a lighter tied with an old shoelace around the store's fence, noting the fact nothing has changed, just like her. ❝Mag-aaral pa ako.❞And she did. She continued her studies in Diliman still, despite being courted by other universities for her masters. She loved the place too much to leave, and she never did.After years of studying, Rin was finally teaching collegiate level, of course, in the same university. Her students admired her fire in studying, even sneaking in a couple of job offers that she took, but nothing too much that will be a hindrance to her studies.Rin's attention was caught by a student shouting her last name, earning a small laugh from her colleagues. Classes have ended already, yet Rin was still in Area 2, smoking. She was immediately contacted by multiple universities, hoping that she would consider teaching as part of their esteemed faculty.Ultimately, Rin chose to stay at UP for another two years, deciding to finish her master's degree before teaching—a bold choice, since most educators begin teaching immediately after passing their board exams.On December 6, 2018, Rin was one of the top scorers on the Licensure Examination for Teachers, placing third, which still haunts her to this day.During the two years she spent completing her master's in English Studies: Literature, she received multiple brand deal offers, becoming a brand ambassador for Prada, Ralph Lauren, and Yves Saint Laurent and establishing herself as a role model for young adults.Despite having little to no social life, she was voted the most influential of her batch. Her former classmates would say, "She was the most determined, and she didn't even need to try."
